    Hi all.

I am trying to wire an LED GU10 light bulb (usually used as downlighters) to a small battery pack (9V or 1.5V).

Does anyone know if a) this is possible, and b) how could you do it?

    Thanks,

    Larry

Led would be a better option for 9v or 1.5 .
What are you trying to achieve?

    Hi Lads,

Thanks so much for your help.

Basically its the 12 ppubs of Christmas this Saturday.

I have my xmas jumper. It has a large Rudolph on the front with a red nose.

I want to insert a red bulb through the jumper so it looks like the nose lights up.

Ideally it would be a red LED downligter type lamp (GU10 or MR16 etc...)

And I need to power this from a battery pack.

So anyone know the best way to do this?

    Thanks,

    Larry

    Hi Koolkid,

Thats what I thought you meant, but it isn't big enough.

I need something bout the size of an old pound coin.

I've seen kids "Flashing Badge" craft sets in Maplin but it was a while back.

A GU10 is mains so it won't work, you might get a 12V MR16 to work for a bit but unless it's LED the battery will be flat in no time.

Or, try pound shops for torches, I saw LED Head torches last week in one place.

These are low voltage & use very little power. You could parallel them & cluster them together.
