montbeliarde for sucklers

    Anyone ever use montbeliarde cows as sucklers? What would be best bull to use on them?

    a neighbour of mine had 40 montbelliarde cows as milkers, then put a lim bull on them and went in to suckling, seems to be doing ok

    we had one that was left over from the dairy herd. Had a great VAP bullock from her and a nice REQ weanling that broke it leg :mad:

    One for trying double suckling with if you have the time

    Its just that a cattle dealer is trying to sell me montbeliarde weanling heifers, he says because of their milk they rear serious calves,500 euro for bucket reared about 250kilos.what are your neighbours calves like whelan 1 are they a good shape?
