Which would you goto for a week next year? South Africa, somewhere in Carribbean,Mexico, New York, cruise maybe?Anywhere else a little bit different?Have already been to most of Europe,Thailand,Egypt,Vegas. Looking for somewhere to have a few fun things to do and a bit of night-life. Probably looking a some sort of package/deal as time is tight. Will have 1500 approx to spend each.Cheers for any input.

If I was going anywhere for only one week and had a tight budget I wouldn't be going long haul for a start. You'll blow half your budget and 2+ days travelling. How about Slovenia or Croatia or Montenegro? Malta, Sardinia, Corsica or Sicilly? Lots of activities to suit all tastes without having to spend endless hours on a plane.

If it was me I'd take a cheap flight to Zadar or Triest and travel down the Croatian coast and islands and fly back from Dubrovnik.

If you want something different try Cuba. It's not that far and it's worth seeing before Ronald Mc Donald arrives.
If its during Summer in Europe, Elba or the emerald coast in Sardina are great places to soak up the rays.

LOL I was gonna say the same thing. Once you get a package for Cuba you can get all in for meals, and go site seeing in your free time. It's a beautiful country.

Have been to a couple of places in the Carribean and loved San Juan in Puerto Rico. Amazing hotels available on hotwire/priceline, I think we paid about $80 a night for 5 star.

Vietnam fly dublin-dubai-hcmc with emirates from €720(that's what we've paid to go in march for the fifth time), hotels food beer cheap cheap cheap, internal flights .... Cheap, nha trang, mui ne, phuoc quoc and hoi an have good beaches and great night life. So cheap your € goes a long way compared to Thailand where it's so westernised.
I'd second Bali(been here three times) if not interested in Vietnam. Fly cork or dublin-Amsterdam-Denpasar(Bali)from €769, hotels €20+ food cheap, very easy to get around, beach ok, plenty of nightlife, there's three tiny islands of the coast of Lombok called the gili islands make sure to go to gili trawangen for a few nights its only 3miles long by a mile wide, had a few great nights there ;) and the diving is great..... Hope this helps!!

Done the states and Europe to death, so looking for something different.

Was thinking of hitting Asia in April/May next year for 2-3 weeks. Not sure where to go but Bangkok appeals to me and others I know have spoken highly about it. Anyone been and would they recommend it? What is it like cost wise; noting that I like my comfort hotel wise?

Bangkok is grand, but i'd only stay for a few days, then head for some of the islands koh chang, kho pi pi,etc plenty to see and do.
