Sporty, Nice looking, Diesel, Automatic Coupe?

Lads a mate of mine is in the market for a new car. He has a work car and wants something nice for the weekend . His girlfriend will be driving it too so he needs an automatic, preferably diesel. He would like an Audi TT but the Diesel Auto's are pretty expensive. He's thinking max 15k, but 10k would be nicer. Wants a nice looking sporty Coupe, something comfy and nice to drive. I was thinking Audi A5 but he doesn't like them. Struggling to think of other options..
Any suggestions of what might suit?

If it's only a weekend car and the queen is only doing small mileage, why is a diesel required?

Makes no sense paying a premium for a diesel when the car will do very little mileage.

Countries full of big comfy rwd big engined petrol cars - economy shouldn't be a worry for occasional use and he'll get a much lower mileage and cheaper car if he looks at petrol .
save 2-3 years tax on the purchase price

There's a few BMW E64 630is knocking around in that price range. If I had the luxury of buying a weekend coupe, I'd be looking in that general direction.

Alternatively, there's plenty of Z4s at that price point.

These would of course be petrol. I haven't looked at Diesels as I'm indulging in what I'd buy, and a Diesel weekend car is not in that category.

I also noticed you are a mod in motorbikes. You shouldnt be propagating this Diesel insanity. Get right on over there to your buddys place, slap him across the cheek and hand him some images of a 335i

If it's just for weekend driving I'd have either a RX8 or a S2000 if Tax was an issue, if not then M3 all the way some stunning examples on bmw driver for well within the budget.

Hmm....someone mentions they want diesel suggestions and everyone jumps on them and suggests petrol. I'm sure I've seen this somewhere before, where could it have been?
