Shure they'll pay Xmas week with the 19th the week before I would imagine, and they'll be back in the Office 03rd Jan. I would imagine? Or do they take longer off?!?

The Social Welfare Office will only be closed 25th and 26th.
But Christmas Arrangements have not been announced yet - keep an eye on www.welfare.ie, they should be announced there first.

Christmas arrangements will be up in your local post office.

I would guess you get a a double week 18th, then maybe paid again the 28th and no payment until 6th january then.
