I got a lightforce 170 with battery and charger, The battery hasn't been used for abut 2 years, I've tried charging it once and its not holding a charge (About 40 mins of lamping time).

Should i leave it on charge for a few days or just buy a new one,

What sort of money would a new battery be,
Where would i get a rechargeable battery,

    Thanks Ronn:D

Get a new 1. Had to get a new 1 last week myself. I payed 40 euro for a 12v 18ah battery, great life out of it. Go to a shop that sells motorbikes or tractor lawnmowers, you should get 1 there. Usually there between 30 and 45 euro, all depends on size.

It is more likely than not a dry cell battery same as used as standbys for alarm systems and after sitting idle for 2 years will be shot.

Bite the bullet, lash out and buy a lithium ion battery.. Well worth the month for the weight saving. N11 OutDoor Store near Bray sells them.

Sika's bang on, you won't beat the Lithium batteries - you'll need to buy a good charger to go with one, but it's well worth the outlay for the performance and durability of them.

Looking at getting a new battery myself.

Prob get a motor bike bat or something similar.
My question is can I charge this with my charger I got with my first battery pack its just a 12v charger that plugs into the wall. Obviously ill have to do something with the connection but would she charge it or should I buy a new charger aswell.

Why not phone an alarm company , they change the batteries every year as part of the maintenance contract. They would be happy to give you a couple.

In have to agree the lithium ion batteries are great
