Maintenance Question

Just a quick question, I was paying maintenance but still brought to court and got a court order to pay a bit more than I can afford. I' doing a FAS course so I'm only getting jobseekers weekly. Because of this court order I'm having to juggle between buying food/nappies/clothes weekly for when I have my child as I just don't have enough. Its starting to get worrying, I appealed the court order but didn't get anywhere. I was told that because I pay maintenance that the mother should supply nappies, clothes etc but haven't found a law about it. Can someone shed more light on this please? Literally cannot find a thing on google.
