    Could anyone have a guess at what this says and what it means please?

    It's from a prison register on FMP and the person was convicted for threatening his daughter with a gun in 1861 - he also served 9 months for violently assaulting said daughter and wife. Charming individual.

    I believe it's:

    "to commence on the legal determination of local notary"

    not 100% positive on the last two words/abbreviation but think that's it

    I think the last bit is "court no1"

    assuming he dropped the crossbar of the t on Court, then I'd go with that..i.e.

    "to commence on the legal determination of Court No. 1"

    although it's a slightly strange 'r' in court... not like the others

    If he was given two separate sentences I think it's

    to commence on the legal determination of coml no 1

    coml = committal

    Of course anything is possible, but I don't think that says "court."

    I'd like to see the rest of the page to compare.

    It's really big but I think CeannRua is right now that I look again.
