    The best way I know to prevent icy windscreen is to park the car in indoor garage ;)

    You can buy night before de-icer in most places now, think tesco sell it even.
    Usually in a windolene type bottle and it's quite cheap. Might be a better option for people.

    Mmmm...do I really want to liberally spray acidic vinegar on to my car for a couple of months of the year? I wonder what the long term effects on the rubber seals and paintwork would be?

    Think I'll get up 30 seconds earlier and not spray acid on my car.
