Some great races on in HK coming up but surely none better than this.

What a field and the amount of different form lines about to be entwined here is amazing too.

A race won by one of my favourite mares ever a few years ago in Daryakana.

Doesn't look to be particularly strong. Would love to see Dancing Rain do it. Think Sea Moon is a plodder and the ground for this race tends to be on the quick side

I remember being in an independent bookies during my college days about 10 years ago, and a French guy came in specifically looking for a price for a French horse for this race. He put about €500 on, so the rest of us there all put whatever we had on us at the time on it too, it won at 4/1 and was a nice payday.

    Looks a poor enough race.

I'd probably go with Meandre or The Fugue if i had a free bet, which i dont :(

Wat about mt athos? He was storming home in the Melbourne cup! Any early prices

I'd be very, very surprised if Mount Athos was good enough to win a group 1 over a mile and a half. The Fugue has had a very long season I wouldn't be surprised if this wasn't one too many. Meandre has been well placed to win a couple of group 1s because I don't think he's a real top horse over here but he has a massive chance along with Dancing Rain I'd say

    This is SSSSOOOO weird.

    ok, let me explain.

In Australia, where I reside, Mount Athos & Dunaden are seen as WORLD CLASS SUPERSTARS.

Dunaden is often referred to as the best stayed in the world over 1m4f.

I think 1m4f is a touch short for Mt Athos. Dancing Rain should get an easy enough lead. Don't know a couple of the runners. Is there any other pace angle?

I'd be keen enough on Dunaden to win though.

that's the thing though, the Aussies are off in their own little world, thinking that every horse that wins a couple of their group 1s is the greatest horse that ever lived.

Dunaden may be a smart stayer, but I can't see him ever winning a domestic 12 furlong group 1. He has been put in his place every time he's tried the trip in the UK. Whilst he may have won this race last year, there are at least 3 who should have too much pace for him.

Shows how silly the Aussies are. Mount Athos's only group win here came in an extended 1 mile 5 group 3, one of the weakest group races of the year especially considering Masked Marvel is only a shadow of his 3 year old self

Ah lads ya should see it here pre spring carnival.

All the imported stayers are on tv 24/7. Worshipped here. Staying standard is so poor here though.

Godolphin have brought a couple of sprinters to Dubai from here.

"Mentle" is worth keeping on the right side of
