    Hey all,

I use to work part-time in a cafe for 7 months. the hours fluctuated from 6 to over 40 sometimes but i worked every week. I wanted to know if I was due holiday pay and after evading me for weeks I finally caught up with my ex employer and he told me i was only due 50 euro in holiday pay. To me this doesnt seem right as I've never asked or recieved any and I read that I was entitled to 8% of my total hours.

Was wondering if anyone had advice or may be able to shed some light on the situation

    Many thanks,

    jimjim

4 weeks paid pro-rata at 8% of your hours.

    Exactly,

So if you worked an average of 18 hours per week and you have now left, you should have been paid ( 18 x 29 x 8%) = 41hrs x hourly rate.

and if you worked a total of 1365 hours during your time there, then the 8% does not apply and instead you would be entitled to 20 days leave.
