What would you all reckon about a 2002 307 HDI with 9 months NCT and 6 weeks tax for €800 has circa 120k. One owner from new.

ABS warning light is on though.

Not a fan myself but looking at some cheap motoring for a few months and was offered this today.

Worse case scenario I just run it until the nct is up and then punt it on for a few hundred

If it drives ok and the only issue is the ABS it sounds potentially worth €800 to me :)

I'll be honest RJ I've not seen it. It's being used by a mate for 10 days then I can have it if I want.

As a throw away car it sounds fine

No harm in having a look/drive of it. If it is driving well then it might be worth a punt. ABS light might be not be a big issue, worst case it will fail the NCT in 9 months and you can part with it.

That's exactly what I think I'd do. In fact I doubt I'll keep it for 9 months. If it can sorted cheaply so be it, if not I'll just drive it on. For 800e my expectations are realistic that it's not going to be perfect but it will be grand having a car I don't have to park away from everyone else in Tesco car parks.

Just an interm car. I just want to clear my loan and save a deposit for something nice.

Out of interest, what are they like to drive? What MPG would I be expecting?

Last Pug I drove was an XUD 306.........strangely I loved it even if it did sail through bends and top out at a hefty 47mph
