Ryanair Flight Time Change

    Right guys,
seems to me, that the only time I post here on boards, is if I have a question about Ryanair :p

Right so, booked my flights (got them very cheap) to Beauvais, from Dublin, about a week or two ago?

Logged into my email yesterday and had an email, 5 days ago, saying my flight time has been changed. It's only by 30 minutes, so not a huge deal, plus its 30 minute extra sleep in bed that morning. ;) So I "confirmed" that I understood the change and all seems to be well. They told me to "re-check-in" if I had already checked in... I hadn't.

Now, since then, i've checked in for my flight. But I got another email earlier today saying "2nd flight change notification ignore if you have actioned."
It just said the same stuff again, showed me the new times and asked me to "confirm"...

First question is why do I get another email? surely they know that I confirmed? Because the purpose of "confirming" is to let them know I've seen the change!?

Secondly, it said in the second email, to check-in again, if I had already done so. Which I had, after the email was received, but before I read it... if that makes sense?

Now my boarding pass does say the updated flight times etc... So I assume there's no issue.

Main reason thing I'm wondering, is my boarding pass going to work? or whats up? I've confirmed the change, checked in & received a second notification of the change. (in which tells me to re-check-in, if I already have).. But I assume that means, "re-check-in", if you originally checked-in, prior to the time change in the beginning...(eg. a week ago)

Wow im confused. Ryanair makes it so difficult, in my opinion.

Anyone had hassle with this stuff before?

    Cheers

I would imagine that for something as important as a change to a flight time, they would send out more than one notification about it. It's pretty important stuff. People showing up late for flights or not at all (due to not seeing the emails) just creates hassle for them, so they protect themselves by sending the customers multiples notifications about flight changes.

Their system is probably automated, and is set up to send you more than one notification of flight changes, no matter what you do or don't do after you get the first one. There may be some people who don't check their email all that often, and the email may have dropped down to page 2 of their Inbox and easier to miss, or some people may accidently delete the email without reading it, or delete it thinking that it is spam. It's possible that the computer system that registers online check ins is not linked in with the one that sends out the emails, hence you getting the second email after you had already checked in. I wouldn't worry about it if I were you.

yep makes perfect send... EXCEPT, why do I get a second one, despite confirming the first one? surely the confirm, means i need no more notifications.

Like maybe i'm overthinking things, but I build programs like this ryanair pay system, as my job. and logic would suggest, confirming, means I understand the story and no more need to tell me.

Which is why Im worried the second email is actually requiring me to re-check-in, as if there has been a second time change or something. and just wondered if people have had hassle with this stuff before and can make suggestions.

I'm just super paranoid when I fly. :p

Just recheck in if you are that concerned.

I get notifications to check in all the time from Ryanair, after I've checked in.

E.g. I might check in 10 days in advance and they still send me an email three days before the flight to check in.

as said above it could be an automated thing to make doubly sure you get the communication.. When I book with them I usually get 2 reminders at least in the weeks leading up to the flight date just to say hey remeber you have a flight, this is without anything changing at all.

OP, I'd get in touch with the company/organisation. They should welcome your query.
When you say you are always on boards.ie asking after Ryanair, why don't you contact the company directly?
I think you need to find a more direct, accurate route for information.

You mentioned that the price was very cheap, do you include the lack of peace of mind in the price?

I hope the trip goes well for you.

OP, you are worrying too much. Aer Lingus operate in exactly the same way, they send the same reminder e-mails to all their passengers to check-in, reserve seats, add bags etc., even if you've already booked a bag and reserved a seat and checked-in online.

It costs too much to modify the IT systems to selectively send out those reminders only to the people that it applies to so they send them to everyone.
