    Excellent news.

Delighted to be honest, chelsea won the cl last year as they got a new lease on life after been freed of avb, not because of rdm.

He was another avram grant who himself was just a penalty away from winning it.

    Please be for Rafa.

In fairness it's crazy to sack him so soon after winning the Cl but hey that's what ya get with Romans play thing.

Why would a United fan want Rafa at Chelsea. He is prob the one man to turn around that club

    Chelsea again looking like jokers.

Maybe Pep has said yes, they'd be stupid not to get rid of Robbie if Pep has said he's available tbh.

    JT for manager.

    you know it's coming...

That's pretty ridiculous, even for Chelsea

Cake, and grief counseling, will be available at the conclusion of the test

Pathetic. Just like Ancelotti delivers the double one season only to be be sacked the following. Now Di Matteo gets the same treatment only 6 months after delivering a long craved CL and FA Cup double.

    No sure if serious??

If they did get Rafa I'm sure it would only be short term but suppose that's nothing new at Chelsea nowadays. Rafa started positively enough at Liverpool but really was a bit of a joke in his final couple of years. I personally don't rate him as a manager so would much prefer him in the job than say Pep.

Didnt see that one coming :p Be interesting to see who takes over and whether they will last a year or not.

The final couple of years? Explain how

Are RDM & Chelsea done ?

Pretty bad form of Chelsea not to wait for the boards thread first.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,840 ✭✭✭intellectual dosser

Pep isnt going to become a passenger to Chelsea's culture. He will make wholesale changes if he was appointed. I'd expect Terry and A. Cole to be at PSG by the end of January.

IIRC at Barca he shifted Ronaldinho shortly after being appointed.

Feel sorry for DiMatteo , should have been given more time.

Preference would be Pep but if he doesnt want to do it then Rafa would do nicely.

I can imagine Roman had an agreement with a manager before sacking RDM.

I just hope Eva stays. :(

How much has sacking AVB and RDM cost Chelsea?

Bastards could've waited til after the City game

It was done at 7:45 AM and the OP was banned for 2weeks for it.

Maybe this new lease of life will see back-to-back Champions League titles?

He got Liverpool the closest they've ever been to winning the Premier League in his 2nd last season?

If Chelsea qualify for the knock-outs now, then the new manager gets all the credit for a turn around.

If Chelsea go out of the CL, then the old manager takes all the blame.

Win/Win for whoever takes the job :p

RDM has done nothing to prove his pedigree. He was sacked by WBA. This was only a matter of time.

I wouldnt expect much of a backlash TBH. It was an extreme knee jerk reaction and it could easily down morale even lower for the players, although I'm sure they knew last night RDM wouldnt be in charge much longer.

That's a crazy decision. Good manager and seemed a likeable character. Redknapp must be licking his lips.

Who is the favourite to replace him?

Should never have been given the job in the first place.

Only 2 people responsible for me

Luiz - who cant defend and Torres - who cant score.
Between them they have seen off, what is it now, 3 managers?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,380 ✭✭✭geeky

Bizarrely, there's no emoticon for banging my head against the wall until sweet oblivion steps in.

And that's only the second most annoying thing that's happened today.

Honestly, why any serious manager would touch Chelsea is just beyond me.

I find the Benítez rumours hard to believe but nothing surprises me in football these days.

Both had been terrific up until the start of November.

Yeah, LOL if the new manager wins the league and the CL!

Didn't think he was good anyway. The City manager might be available tomorrow.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 8,763 ✭✭✭Jax Teller

His own fault . Should have said at the start of the season to Torres your no longer good enough and wont start for me and signed a good striker or 2 .

Look at what Rodgers done at Liverpool didn't just play people depending on how much money they paid for them before he came in .
He needed to put his own stamp on the team instead of just following the owners thoughts .

Because you can spend ~8 months being a football manager and then never work a day again in your life.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,039 ✭✭✭Barlett

I seriously doubt Guardiola will join a club where you get the sack if you don't win pretty much all your matches.

I beg to differ. Luiz has been at fault for so many goals now I have lost count

I was actually angry when the Sky reported asked him was he worried about his job last night. I thought it was extremely sensationalist but it turns out he was right.

They definitely have somebody lined up
