gas combi boiler

hi guys, my gas boiler[not combi] packed up today but my brother has a combi version only 2 years old has high enough output but i dont want to use the domestic side of it, can it just be left open ended or does it need water in it with expantion and safety valve, thanks

Why do you want a combi then, if you do noy wish to use it, what model boiler is this also
