    Hi all,

Am off to Thailand next year with my partner. We definitely want to visit Railay Beach and Phi Phi but having trouble deciding where to stay. On Railay there isn't many options, and on Phi Phi there's almost too many! Does anyone have any recommendations for these two places?

    Thanks!

depends really on your budget, in railay we stayed in sunrise tropical, fab rooms, great location, railays so small that everywhere is a 5 - 10 min walk, think it worked out at 25e pp per night incl breakfast. We got a good deal on their site stay 3 nights pay for 2. Would def recommend booking in advance for railway if you are planning on staying in a hotel. On phi phi we stayed in paradise resort on long beach. Nice enough place, think it was approx 20e pp per night. Best thing was the location as it was right on the beach and away from the town so its quieter. The downfall was if the weather was really bad you couldn't get a boat into town, as we discovered the day we were leaving with all our luggage! Resulted in us having to lug it up and down the jungle type trail into town! Normally a fine 15-20 min walk took us over2hrs! When u get of the boat at phi phi there are loads of people who will organise accommodation for u and arrange pick up. Good thing is don't have to pre book bad thing all the nice places could be full! Research is def needed if u are not pre booking so u no which places to avoid!

We stayed at Phi Phi Island Village Beach Resort for our honeymoon. We really enjoyed our stay there, but it's defo not cheap. We booked beach-front bungalow at around 250/night. Prices change a lot with season and depends on which website/agent you book with, we were there end of wet-season/start of high-season, so prices were already on the up. We booked with Travel Republic, which worked out good bit cheaper than even booking.com or hotels.com.
I'd recommend it if you've the budget for it. If not, I wouldn't stay there even if you get cheapest room in the place, as the food/drink and transfers are accordingly expensive.
