How is it out of character? Explain that to me, what he should be doing if he's gay.

I assumed he was gay ever since Dexter found the hidden photo of him with Victor. I'm surprised that anyone, including Dexter, didn't see it coming.

I thought it was pretty obvious that he was gay?

IMO the dialogue between Dexter and Isaac at the end was the best dialogue of the season so far.

Also, having not felt majorly enamoured about the season so far I thought this was the best episode yet, its really starting to ramp up.

    .

Obviously if he is gay he should be wearing pink shirts, and his main interest should be mens fashion not guns, and he should have a pet poodle named Nipsy. Oh and he should have like hundreds of shoes.

I thought it made sense of things. He was either his dad (bringing out the Dexter/Harrison feelings angle) or lover.

I'm finding this series isn't doing it for me and I'm getting bored with it. Isaac's character is the only one keeping me entertained. The scene were its suggested he back off from Dexter and as soon as the guy walks away, checks gun and off he goes. No change in thought. Loved it.

OP you seem rather narrow minded.

Why is it so relevant that Dexter changed piers? Im confused?

    Poll added.

OP - It was always obvious that Isaac was gay, and the Hannah stuff is great.

Excellent episode and next week looks even better.
Anyone think LaGuerta won't make it to season 8?

Yep. She should start picking her coffin.
Dexter might kill her but more likely it'll be Hannah, trying to protect him. Deb will realise this and essentially disown Dexter. This will leave him completely alone in the final season, with a very angry Miami police force hunting for Hannah's accomplice.

Hang on... is this not the last season???

Nah, Se7 and Se8 are joined to finish out Dexter.

The name of the last episode in season 7 has me captured. Isn't that what Doakes said to Dex on the pier in the everglades when he caught him? Hmm..

Or Deb will kill her to protect Dex? After years of taking crap off her, she turns out to be more like Dex than she'd like?

No come on , what I mean is realistically I can't imagine a gay guy moving
to the top of such a machismo world, gangsters aren't exactly open minded when it comes to this - and I know he has kept it secret but these things get out .... then again one of the Kray brothers was a french butcher so it's possible ...

I'm not sure but I think it relates to events in Season 2. Remember Masuka got all excited because of the algae found on the rocks in the bags and using new experimental tests they could pinpoint which bay the rocks came from? Dexter broke the refridgeration unit housing the rocks before the tests could be done. I think LaGuerta has practically memorised Lundy's notes and that potentially pivotal moment but ultimately doomed point in the case stuck in her mind, so when she discovers that Dexter moved his boat to another pier, despite having 8 months left on his lease, while not conclusive evidence, it is another small inconsistency regarding Dexter.

I'm going to rewatch some of Season 2 today to see if anything else stands out.

They were able to tell which marina it was moored in, and his moving right around the time when the case closed will trigger her suspicions.

Deb: "If I love you? I came to the church that night to tell you I was IN love with you!"

I was really hoping they would just let that storyline die. It's pretty gash imo.

Am I the only one who went "what the hell" when Deb actually told Dexter she was in love with him ?

Brilliant season so far imo, so many intriguing storylines going on at the same time and nearly all are closing the net in on Dexter

It is a bit mad alright. I dont think its uncommon for 2 surviving siblings to have a special bond. That doesn't automatically mean they are in love. I think its a bit of a leap to go from "he's your safe place" to "You're in love with him".

I read an interview recently where it was said the writers put that in last season as a plot device to help the viewers understand why Deb wouldn't/didn't turn Dexter in when she found out. That made sense and i was hoping they would leave it there rather than bring it up again.

If I discovered my sister had been masquerading as (I spent a good few minutes trying to think of someone really bad, what with Bin-laden being dead and all), say, Justin Bieber for all these years. Despite the shock and the disgust, I would not automatically report her. She's my sister, no other explanation needed.

There is at least one more.

Maybe more if he just kills everyone and it turns in the Walking Dead.

Are we sure this is not the last season, split into two smaller chunks? Is the next episode the last of the season?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 443 ✭✭DBK

Season 7 was supposed to be it, but they signed up for Season 8. But instead of finishing off the season with the 12th episode, they are going to bring some of the storylines on through to the 8th and final season. So it's going to be like a 24 episode season broken into two. If that makes sense?:o

No there's 12 episodes this season (so another 4 to go ) and another 12 episodes in season 8 .

Season started well but its being dragged out. Bored of the Isaac story, want La Guerta dead and they arent even paying enough attention to that storyline, the Hannah stuff is ok as its to do with his character development but it just hasnt gone anywhere really in the last few episoeds.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,203 ✭✭✭artvanderlay

I think it'll get to a situation where dex has to choose between saving hannah or debs, the two women who know his secret. I think he'll go with debs and then realise he loves her (yawn!). Not sure how the Isaac story is going to resolve. I think Quinn will get pulled into it, might even kill Isaac for the guy that's blackmailing him, and it wouldn't surprise me if Dex witnesses Quinn killing Isaac and Quinn uncovers Dex's secret too, but neither can tell although Quinn might help La Guerta with her investigation to get at Dex indirectly. Or something...

Everything bar this Deb storyline is good. Take out that crap and this series would be awesome. Unfortunately it gets dragged down by Deb's involvement. Hopefully she dies in the finale of this season.

LaGuerta is dead too. It's only a matter of time. Quinn meanwhile will get caught by Batista. Not sure what Masuka is going to be doing, he is just kinda there.

..probably something involving the dead bodies of Deb and LaGuerta.

So Deb dies, Dexter loses the plot and drops the code and kills for the trill. Flashforward to Harrison having Dexter on his kill table, giving him the same treatment that Dex gave his brother. Next season is called Harrison with crazy future credits of the eggs and coffee making themselves while Harrison uses an electric razor instead of a wet shave.

Awesome news about that extra season.

I cant wait for Masuka to find out about Dexter. He'll probably geek out.

More plausible than some of the laughable potential story direction in these threads.

Wasn't the greatest episode though have to say, looking forward to seeing La Guerta dead

Wonder how they will kill off La Guerta? I was nearly certain Dexter would get rid of Lewis but that didn't materialise.

Na man, I'm not buying that. There are some things that can't be rationaled or explained.

I'm probably closer to my sister than anybody else in this world and she knows me better than anyone. But there are some things you just don't get over. Like if she told me she had just killed somebody....sure....I would help her hide the body. (Hypothetically :p)

But if she was a raving lunatic serial killer with a dark passanger......I'm calling the police and running a mile. :p

It was obvious from when Isaac took the picture out of the frame that he was gay.

    Is he Dexter's friend now?

No, he still wants him dead.

I think he see's Dexter as his equal and respects him, but still wants him dead.

Best episode that I can remember. I thought the scene with Dex & Isaac in the bar was a bit like when DeNiro & Pacino met in the coffee shop in Heat, but better.

You know, I had this haunting feeling that this "I'm in love" angle is going to end with Deb shooting Dex so that she doesn't go down with him for the murders. "Deb, if you really love me, you won't let them take me in. This way you won't lose the family respect and that we're not all bad. Do this for me...for love" Boll*x. I wanna see more deaths.
