I just found out about this Ultraviolet DRM/cloud movies system. I was going to preorder the last Batman film on Blu ray and saw the Ultraviolet version was a good bit cheaper.

The system seems ok to me http://www.sonypictures.com/homevideo/ultraviolet/about.html

The one thing I can't figure out though is if I buy the Blu ray from cdwow do I get the blu ray in the box or do I have to download a 13gb file to watch the movie?

Ultraviolet is the digital version to get in addition to the Blu-ray. They used give you a code to download the iTunes version, but now it's UV. Afaik not all studios offer it in Ireland yet. Not sure if you can still use it or not.

I have a couple of Blu-rays with it, but I really couldn't be bothered trying to understand how it works, messing around with badly designed websites, crappy software, unnecessary signups, etc. It's just more DRM crap. If I want DRM movies I'll buy from iTunes - at least it's user friendly and works.

That seems to be what it is like as far as I can tell. You can stream off the website or download it.
