2008 Mondeo 2.0tdci Engine Light

    Hi,

The engine light has come on in my 08 mondeo 2.0tdc (140), 90k miles. When the engine is read it states that it is the DPF filter. I assumed if I gave the car a good run out on the motorway this would clean the DPF filter out allowing regeneration to take place. I then got the light cleared but it has since returned.

I have no loss in power or performance with the car therefore I am wondering why the DPF light is coming on? Is it possible it could just be the sensor going or could it still be the DPFs life coming to an end.

Also would DPF removal be a better option if the later is the case and would I have to remap my car if I do choose to get the DPF removed?

I would appreciate your help on this guys as the light can be irritating..

    Thanks.
