The Kippure transmitter is recommended for the Monasterevin area, have you tried placing it on an east facing window cill in the direction of Kippure?

Regarding an amplified aerial, difficult to know if it'll work for you. Only by testing one will you know for sure.

You could pick one up in Argos and return it if it doesn't work.

Indoor aerials only work for 10% of the population. So you are one of the 90%. Amplified indoor aerials are a waste of time, money, and electricity. You cannot amplify what is not there, you'll just amplify the noise. The TV network is designed for outdoor aerials 10 metres high (from the ground, not the roof).

I find it incredible that someone can spend so much on a TV and yet tries to run it off a crappy indoor aerial.
