Unable to view messages since update (htc sensation)

I finally got around to updating my phone yesterday and since the update I am unable to view any messages When I hit messages I get a blank screen saying "please wait..." I thought maybe it was just going to take a while to load them up etc etc since the update - but a day later it still says the same thing Any ideas on…
