    Hi.

We have a 08 Passat. The clutch was a bit 'crunchy' over the last few days. It would grind unless the clutch was 100% floored.
Today, I reversed out of the drive and couldn't get into 1 gear. It just wouldn't engage. I turned off / on car. Still no joy.
I started car 'in gear' and she drive away sound for the day.

We also had to replace the engine recently. Long story :-(

    Any ideas.

Yes its the dreaded clutch and dualmass flywheel.

Unfrotunately an expensive fix if you are going to a garage. I did mine myself though for considerably less than what VW quoted (€1,400)

A word of caution and advice. Put in a solid flywheel when changing over. The DMFs are a nightmare!
