    Hi,

Could anyone recommend a nice, well equipped agility area for dogs, ideally not far from Cork town? I found a couple of places offering courses, but I'd like to train the dog myself, so looking for a 'pay/book per use' place or similar.

    Thanks for your advice.

The Irish Search Dogs do agility on Tuesday evenings at 8pm at the Hop Island Equistrian Centre in Rochestown.

You just turn up and pay per week, I think it's €10 per group. There are people there to help you out but there's no fixed class structure so you can do your own thing pretty much. They also do general obedience and puppy socialisation at the same time so it's a good evening out. And your €10 goes to the charity :)

I think they do agility too, if not they might be able to put you on to someone who does. http://www.creedonsdoggiedaycare.com/index-2.html

Ya, Hop Island is very good for agility and for a mere tenner as well.

+1 on Hop Island. Irish Search Dogs do the classes to fundraise for equipment etc for the 'serious' side of what they do. A great charity to support via a very fun way. No booking required, just show up & it's €10 per family (even if you have more than one dog). The agility equipment is always out for anyone to use & there are people there to assist if required.
