Decent episode with a kick ass ending.

Looks even more like Peter is September. The head tilting plus the scene I posted between Peter and September in last weeks episode thread was exactly like the scene between Peter and Olivia this week.

Yeah fantastic today. Looks like Peter is September indeed! Kind of hard to think about it! Peter was kidnapped by Walter as a child *because* Peter (September) visited Walternate at the exact moment needed to stop him finding the cure. Then he saved Peter/Walter from the lake... and so many other things! He also failed to delete Peter when he was supposed to. Wow.

The other thing that strikes me is when Peter used the tech from Septembers briefcase to find the beacon to bring September back in 4x15. September says "I needed you to activate it so I could find my way back". There was a definite emphasis on the you there!

Pretty incredible that they are going to pull of a story line that gives complete relevance to everything that happened in the entire series. I can definitely see myself rewatching the entire thing from Season 1 when it ends!

Also the fact that September is a partial anagram of Peter..

Probably worth posting this scene seeing as the way things seem to be going. Is Peter inside his own mind! :)

I immediately thought of your post last week when he did that copy cat thing with Olivia!

I think this is definitely getting a rewatch once it's all over (sad now again that we're nearly there).

Other than the last ten or so minutes it was a rather run of the mill show dealing with past episodes and setting things in motion for the coming episodes though it was nice to see Nina again (Anyone else thinks she looks like Endgame Captain Janeway :p).

    A good episode.

Can't say I've missed Nina so far in season 5, but her scenes with Walter were good. Reckon Bowie hangs out in 2036?

    O hai, proper face meltage.

That was awesome. And the hair thing at last.
Looks like peter really is september, he's doing the cool creepy observer-acting now.

I really enjoyed this episode. You can see everything coming together.
I liked the reference back to the pilot. It's like everything was preparing him for this.
    +1 on the September theory.

Nah, I don't buy this 'Peter is September' thing. To expect the audience to accept that two guys that look absolutely nothing like each other are the same person is a bit much for me. Seriously, look at their noses in the scenes posted above, completely different. Any explanation the writers could come up with for the vast difference in appearance would be a ridiculous stretch, even for Fringe. I'll actually be really disappointed if this turns out to be the way they're going.

I can see Peter as the first 'Observer', but not September. If September must be somebody we've already met, I could just about accept him somehow turning out to be Peter's erased offspring, Henry.

This is Fringe. We have seen changes of appearance in a number of different fringe cases. I believe a lot of the cases they have dealt with will have some bearing on whats happening now.

    September is also shorter.

september said he was many generations ahead of peter, could peter just be one of the first observers his dna mixed with the mind reading capibilites of the little observer

Another good episode. Interesting to see Walter slowly changing. It's been quite subtle up to now but Noble is doing a great job of it. It already feels like the Walter of the past 4 seasons is lost. Peter's transition too is a great move and it's actually a great insight into the Observer mind. Even though we do seem to getting a "tape of the week" episode, it's what's happening to the two of them that is making it great television.

    Loved it.

Great to see Peter start using potential timelines to get at the observers.

If he is September; would he not be stuck in some infinite loop? For september to exist, peter had to use the tech on himself; for that to happen, everything that happened in previous seasons would have to happen too? A very simplistic way to view it, but I dare not dwell too much on the hows and the whys until the series is over for fear my head might explode.

What an episode! The last 5 minutes were superb. I've never really noticed the guitar solo from bowie's tmwstw was so haunting. Cant get it out of my head today. I need to buy a record player and that album after watching that episode.

Peters story line is excellent, he is sacrificing so much but he is doesnt even comprehend it at the moment. He was definitely passively logical when talking to Olivia. In the next couple of episodes we should see him dissapear completely.

I hope they come up with a better ending than Peter is the first observer. It would be great if it wasnt something that we predicted 2 months in advance

In fairness predicting that ending two months before the end of a show that has run for 5 years is damn good. I was afraid of the previous seasons being irrelevant but it seems to be that they are all connected and most things that happened have happened for a reason. I think the scene where he speaks what Olivia speaks is a definite nod to him being September. I feel my faith is being repaid.

Also the fact september doesn't look like peter can be fixed with some shapeshifter tech

Damn, just noticed that Fringe isn't on for the next two weeks. Damn TV networks and their crazy random breaks!

Anyway, nice preview for the next episode:

    Looking good. Can't wait.

i dunno the peter being september might be a bit much, i can see peter having a major influence in septembers life in some way, maybe he manages to travel to the future and takes september under his wing and teach him right from wrong and that what the observers are doing is bad, and then when peter dies september goes back in time and try to stop the observers,

as much as i dont want to loose our walter, i want to see just how bad the old walter was, it might just be whats needed to beat the observers, having walter with his full mental capacities make the ultimate sacrifice to save oliva and probably peter, showing that he was never as evil as he thought he was,

i do wonder why we havent seen much of olivias powers this season, it really annoys me that it took them so long for her to get as powerful as she did last season, only to kind of completely forget about her powers this season,

only 6 episodes left, so the 2 week break might be a good thing:D:D

Yeah that was truly fantastic. Loved the whole thing and cannot wait for the next episode now

Just caught up on the past 5 episodes. Haven't read the other episode threads but anyone else think they'll somehow hit a reset button at the end of the series? Maybe go back and stop the Observers invading.
And why didn't Peter just shoot the antimatter bomb at the corridor they opened?
Like the touch of having the different symbols on the doors in the pocket universe.
If Peter can see the Observers' paths, why can't they see his, especially since Wimmark knows he's got their powers.

Don't think Peter is one of the Observers we've met since none of them knew who Etta was.

    IIRC September did.

Wasn't he just aware of Henry from the Alternate Universe?
