    Hi Folks,
I got a winter coat in Penneys last year and the thing has fallen to bits and the fabric looks ragged and it didn't stand up to cold weather too well (brrrr when I counted on it). Never again!

I would love some suggestions of places where you lovely folks have already spotted some nice mens winter coats for under €100 that would stand up to a cold wet winter. (Am I crazy in thinking I could get a good one for €100 that would last me a few years?)

    Thanks!

Top shop have lovely ones for €130 at the moment, they have four colours if Im remembering correctly.
From my experience, penneys clothing rarely lasts longer than a year. Your better off spending good money on something that will last rather than buying new every year

Hi thanks. I wasn't able to find the mens section of topshop but I'm guessing topman.com is it - their sites feel similar.

Perhaps they have coats instore that aren't on their website. I had a look at this page and every one listed looks hideous to me. I guess I was thinking more of a traditional style :)

Yeah sorry, top man is what I meant. Don't think the coat I saw is on that site.

What style are you looking for? Like a pea coat or something?

I think you need to be looking at 250E plus to get an overcoat with decent construction and pure wool. I'd try Arnotts.

Try looking in next, m&s, river island and debenhams. You can get some great coats in there.

I picked up a men's double breasted peacoat from an online army surplus store based in Wicklow I think last year for €75. It's amazing, properly built to last and warm as hell. The stuff in army surplus places are usually cheap and really well made.

Definitely check TK Maxx, they have loads of coats! You're likely to get a good quality brand for €100+.

Got a really nice coat for €80 in Jack & Jones recently. Very warm & comfortable, reckon should last me a couple of winters at least. Have a look in charity shops too, not usually as good for mens clothes as for women but you will occasionally get really good quality jackets in them for a low price.
