Just been on the phone with Sky as I wasn't getting any of the Sky On Demand content... Turns out they've pulled the offering from ROI and there's no plans to bring it back!!

Has anyone else lost their On Demand content and just back with the basic Anytime options..?

Is there something specifically your not getting as its working fine for me?

that's a good question..!!! I just have the LAN cable plugged into it.. Seems odd to sell the wireless connectors and promote the service, then pull it without some much as a word..!

All I have is the "Showcase" stuff(which was previously "Anytime").. I called Sky and said my On Demand isn't working.. She went off and spoke to her supervisor who came back and said they've pulled it.. And because I'd uplugged my Sky box during the week, there was an update done and it's wiped it from the box.. and that it wouldn't be returning..

Cant see them pulling this tbh, they need this now to rival UPC's on demand (although sky on demand is superior imo)

They'll get a big backlash if this really is the case.

Seems unlikely, Sky are hardly the type of company that doesn't research this stuff in minute detail. Fiver says it's one Those call handlers. You know the type....

Is your normal recording function working fine... Pause/rewind ?
Have you tried a software update.. holding the Backup botton (on the box) whilst applying power to your box...?

In settings does it show you have a network connection?

    to quote the website

    Features
    Brand new in Ireland
Connect your compatible Sky+ box to any broadband router to enjoy TV on demand at no extra monthly cost to your Sky TV
Watch back to back episodes of full series box sets
Explore a showcase of the week's best TV
*Sky Movies Pack customers can enjoy hundreds of movies on demand
Plus rent movies through your Sky+HD box with Sky Store
All ready to watch when you are

I cant see this as being nothing more than an uninformed call handler.

I'd ring them back and see if you can get someone else and see what they say. I've often rang sky with an offer thats come in the door address to me with my account number on, i ring them and i get "no that offer is not on our system", I ring back get another person and hey presto its done in a couple of mins. This has happened at least twice.
From my times ringing, Cork call centre are by far the best at dealing with customers.

In settings does it show you have a network connection? - Yup, I'm seeing the IP address, DHCP is 'ON', service Connection is 'Ok' and Local Connection is 'OK'

    See above

I'm hoping it's a case of they've no idea what they're talking about.. First time calling I got through to, what sounded like, and Indian call centre, but the line was dodgy.. Called back and got through to a Northern Irish person.. May try calling back again..

Think this one's been debunked now. Please use the sticky for further Sky OD discussion.
