I'm aware that fertility is an optional thing so not necessarily covered by health insurance but lets say you are having investigations for endo etc. the cover would be there. So from that perspective has anyone any opinions or experience with health insurance and fertility and what would be the best plan (preferably with vhi) to get going into the fertility and hopefully pregnancy journey?

First things first you need to be covered for 1 year before most of those benefits kick in, so check the fine print. Also they generally won't cover pre-existing conditions so be careful there too.
I would always say buy the bst you can afford I've been on helath manager starter originally Quinn now laya and I have fond them to be excellent to deal with.

I actually am a member of the vhi since a baby so 26 years. At the moment my husband and i are discussing upping my level of cover because i've finally been referred to fertility specialist and money wise well lets just say i can up my cover.

Then do it, but there is still a waiting period before you can avail of any extras and those estras won't apply to anything currently being investigated/treated. At least that is what I was told at my renewal when I enquired.
