So after two years of self unemployment ( well not really by choice ) I am finally going to the dole office I just really want to know what I will need to bring, Documents etc.. What they will ask, Does my landlord need to know I will be on social welfare payments and well I need to really know everything, I looked at links but Im to stupid to understand all the stuff the websites say so could anyone possibly put it in very simple terms for my very small brain.
    Thank you

OP the website is actually quite clear, so maybe while on the dole avail of some educational course..as you seem to need them

When attending the dole office bring with you,

    pps card
photo id - drivers licence or passport
proof of address - utility bill, rent book etc
bank statement for the last 6mths
if you received redundancy, bring proof of how much you got
    your P45

this is the link for what you need, I really dont see how you do not understand it tbh

    http://www.welfare.ie/EN/Pages/jajbapplications.aspx

If they require anything else they will let you know

You do not need to tell your landlord unless you will no longer be able to afford the rent, in which case you will need to apply for rent supplement. This is a form you receive from the community welfare officer in your local health centre, and will need to get a section of it filled in by your landlord to avail of it. There are guidelines for rent supplement..here is the post, its in English and easy to understand I suggest you take your time and read it slowly so as to actually understand it and take it in...you really have to learn to stand on your own two feet OP your not a child and these are things you have to face and if you can move out of home, get a job and rent a place to live then surely you can read a link and understand it

daddyorchips, The amount of information which has to be taken on board when applying for benefits/assistance is pretty daunting for a lot of people, so don't put yourself down. If you felt comfortable calling into your local Citizens Information Office and explaining that you need a bit of help getting and processing the information, they should be glad to help you.
