Opinions/cost of whether to respray a full car

I have a 01 Fiesta and the body is in rough shape from dings, a few rust spots and scratches, but the car is mechanically perfect with less than a 100,000 miles done (NCT'd in August). After thinking about getting rid of it I decided I'm going to hang onto it due to the times we live in and get a bit of work done on it. The main problems on the body are a good few deep scratches all over the car (gone through the top layer of paint in a lot of them), a large dent on the boot door and a nasty crease the entire length of the front drivers wing and some paint off the corner of one bumper. What I am wondering is, given the amount of scratches on it and rust spots, and the fact I will be buying the wing and boot door off a breaker and they are unlikely to be the right colour, then getting the garage who usually does work for me to fit them and respray. Should I just tell them that while they are at it, respray the whole car in a standard colour like black, instead of having them going around it nitpicking the scratches and other problems? The car is currently that blue-grey that was on Fiesta's between 00-02 and I was told it could be more expensive and difficult to get a good match. I am thinking that the labour time/cost would be about the same for either option considering fine detail repairing and respraying would be nearly slower than just getting the paint off, filling, priming and respraying. Any advice would be appreciated.

The cost of the re-spray would be more than what the car is worth!
You would be better driving it as it is, or spending the money that you'd pay for the re-spray on a little upgrade; you'll get a few quid for the car as is, due to the NCT and low mileage.
You'd be surprised what you'd pick up for little money these days - take a look at the "Bangeronmics" thread in the main motoring forum! :)

Yeah I asked the garage and the quote I got was more or less confirming your answer. They said if I wanted to do it, they would stick on the wing and boot for me, but I'd be better off going to a handy enough local lad who does spraying on the weekends if I wanted to respray it, otherwise I'd only be paying for something a dealer could do handy enough as he wouldn't be getting the labour bill. I think I'll just drive her as is til she disintegrates.
