Anyone watching this Tim Allen show? I can't find a thread on it about the place!

i would recommend the show as a masterclass in how to take a show that is very watchable, quite likeable and entertaining in season 1 and ruin it in season 2.

I caught the first 2 Season 2 episodes last night. Amongst the changes made was the recasting of one of the lead actresses. The setup is that Tim Allen & his missus have 3 daughters. One who's 13-14 and a tomboy, one who's 15-16 and a girly girl and one who's 18-20, a single mother with a baby but quite a hard working straight forward girl.

For S1 the show was quite funny and generally harmless stuff but was always kinda sweet and guaranteed a bit of a laugh. For Season 2 they recast the acrtess playing the single mom and turned the baby into a 5-6 year old. They introduced a new character, the child's father who had done a legger we were told in the last series but is now mysteriously back. The character is an annoying bollox. The kid is annoying and I don't like the new actress playing the single mom. What's worse they've tweaked Tim allen's character to be a bit more of a grumpy old man while adding in political humour.

It's taken what I would consider a 6/10 comedy down to a 3/10 show. I had a real soft spot for this show last season and was looking forward to it returning. At this point I'm not sure I'll be watching past episode 5.
