Seeing the variety of cars driven into spaces and and some reversed into spaces got me thinking .. so I'm gonna start this poll before my first morning lecture :D
Do you drive in or reverse in?

I reverse in, because it's easier, especially when coming back out of the driveway, you have full front view of what's on front of you.

I'd reverse into parking spaces, I find it a lot easier than driving straight in for some reason.

I will however drive straight into our driveway. I have in the past tried reversing into it, but that has occasionally resulted in other cars deciding to wait behind me rather than overtake, which made reversing impossible. I wasn't able to communicate to them that I intend to reverse into my driveway here, so can they please overtake me (the opposite side was free, no oncoming traffic), or move back to allow me to manoeuver?
So I'm not doing that any more.

isn't it illegal to reverse out of a drive now or is that only when there is a footpath nearby?

makes sense though lot easier to see if anything is coming on the road or footpath

I just look for 3 spaces in a row and park sideways. Its much handier.

Sometimes i park across two spaces so my doors dont get dinged. I've seen lads with nice cars do it so it must be ok.

I think legally I would have to reverse into my driveway... but as I said, people won't let me, so it's not really practical.

There are laws around this?
I always drive into my drive, and usually drive into parking space, sometimes I like to live on the edge and reverse though.
Are there actually laws saying you have to reverse in?

Arm out window, waving them to overtake works for me. Especially as I have my reverse lights on.

There are rules saying that you should never reverse from a secondary road onto a primary road. Your driveway would be considered a secondary road so really you should be reversing into it rather than out of it onto a primary road.

I usually drive into my driveway, it's more practical due to it's position. I drive into angled spots and always cringe a little a people trying to reverse into them. Regardless of the size of parrallel space, I reverse in, never drive in. Regular car park spots I reverse in, it's a lot safer and more practical to reverse in between two stationary cars than to reverse out into a road when there are moving obstacles such trolleys, children, other traffic.

I find people driving into spots often make a balls of it and spend ages straightening up - or worse still - don't even bother straightening up.

And I definitely spend more time waiting for people reversing out of spaces, than I do waiting for people to reverse into them.

pretty sure there is, it was mentioned on a previous thread. makes sense too, i've heard stories in the news recently about kids being run over as cars reverse as you can't see properly.

heck even me at 6 foot 2, i've been reversed into but thankfully not to bad though. kinda bumped my side and leg but thats head height for children

That's what my driving instructor told me.
I haven't done any research myself, so I cannot really confirm it.

    I tried that.
They responded by flashing their lights, and kept sitting where they were.

Lob on the hazards a couple of seconds before your spot to warn them, then take your position and stick on the reversing lights. people mostly understand to keep clear

As a cyclist who has been knocked down once and nearly knocked down several times by people reversing out of their driveway, I can safely say that those who reverse onto a main road are lazy, selfish and damn right ignorant.

Just take about 30 seconds of time to reverse into your driveway if you know you don't have the space to turn the car around.

Its people that on a daily basis insist on backing out their car inch by inch when they cant see $hit that irritates me, assuming that whoever is driving will see them and stop. They seem to think that if they cant see whats going on then they somehow get right of way by slowly backing out onto a busy road.

If we're talking about home then the poll needs more options.

I live in the countryside, my whole shagging yard+drive is my parking space.
