    Hi

Question about laptop, I was looking at my disk space on the laptop and was going to compress it to make more space but cancelled it before it was completed, I was updating my virus sofeware and computer asked to restart and I did. It restarted ok but when I woke up this morning to turn on the laptop got this message (see attched) now I've done what it said on the screen but it keeps coming back to that screen

Anyone know what could be wrong?

    Thanks
    MTJM

Why did you go and cancel compression process??

You repair Boomgr with System startup repair disk or is it called Recovery disk.. This means that you insert CD or DVD disk and restart computer from the disk.

To do that you have to press any button when it says so. If you don't get message "press any button to boot from CD...." then you have to go to BIOS (pressing Del or F2 or F8 at the very beginning after powering device on) and change disks startup order where you select CD drive as the first booting device.

When you boot up the disc, you’ll find the following System Recovery Options:
    • Startup Repair <--- tis you want
    • System Restore
    • Windows Complete PC Restore
    • Windows Memory Diagnostic Tool
    • Command Prompt

Google how to obtain Recovery disk or make one from the scratch.. here is some story about it.. http://www.zdnet.com/blog/bott/lost-your-windows-discs-how-to-get-replacement-media-legally/4320

the easiest if somebody could lend you Vista Recovery disk!

Have a look at the post above me, as for the upgrade to 7, 7 should run fine if not better than Vista. What is the model/make?

I'm back up running proper on the laptop, anyway just quick question. I was using google chrome am using gmail with it etc.. I notice what ever favrouits I've added it's on my work pc too (using chrome too) how come this is happening? I can see the history of sites I've been on, while at home I can be on what ever sites etc.. but looking at the history in work it would look like I've been on porn etc.. don't want to be accused in being on porn or being online all the time.

How is this happeneing? what ever favourits I add or removed on my work PC it's like I'm removing them from laptop too at same time?

I've decided to use firefox on laptop and use chrome in work, I don't be internet much here but don't want to look like I've been
