Brake Drum Problem

    I have a 03 Almera, 1.5, N16.

I sheered a wheel stud off on of my rear wheels a while ago and today I went to change it, all was going well until I went to put the brake drum back on, I noticed there was a brake fluid leak, I noticed it was coming from the brake cylinder so I took that off and seen that the rubber seal was out of place, I then sorted that and put it back on but the problem now is the drum will not go back on, it's getting caught on the brake shoes, I've tried pushing them back in but no luck it will not go back on. Any ideas what's going on?

    Thanks

You have to wind the adjusters on the handbrake mechanism back.
Then fit the brake drum and adjust them back into position.
Why did the rubber seal get out of place? Has something happened that will allow the shoes to move and the cylinder to pop the piston out?
Are the shoe retaining pins all OK and not sheared off?

    Where is the handbrake adjustor?

Like I said, it started to leak when I took off the hub, maybe I hit it, I'm not sure. Maybe it will be okay if I could get the damn drum on. Pins all look fine, I haven't moved anything.

The above would be two types of handbrake adjuster. They are generally a ratchet system that allows the handbrake to aoutomatically adjust as the shoes wear. you can manually set them so thatr the drum fits over, then adjust fully with brake pedal and handbrake

Sorted this, a slight adjustment of the ratchet beside the brake shoe was all that was needed.
