Money from UK to Irish account. How long should this take?

I'm waiting for my first salary payment into my irish bank account from the UK. I'm wondering how long it's supposed to take once the payment has been processed by my employer.

It depends how they sent it. If they used your IBAN details it should normally be no more than a day or two.

This will cost your employer (~3% of your wage) because the banks give bad exchange rate. You should ask the employer to pay you in Sterling into a uk bank account, then make your own FX arrangements to get best rate.
