    Hi Folks

I looking to head off on my own for about 4 - 5 weeks on a holdiay in the first 6 months of 2013. I've travelled abroad before on my own so that is not an issue. I've done South East Asia 5 years in a row and been to Japan and around South America so I'd like to try somewhere different. I'm looking to go on an outdoors holiday with plenty of hiking and empty landscapes.

I've looked at Torngat Nat. Park in Canada and Kluane Nat. Park in Yukon. Torngat was coming in very expensive and I couldn't find a tour operator that would actually go up the mountains in Kluane, mostly just drive to them, look at them and then leave.

Anybody got any advise as to where might be a nice place to visit.
    Cheers.

Have you been to South America? Friends that went did the Inca trail and loved the hiking experience.

India... Cheap magical and fantastic people food culture and scenery, fly into delhi(mad mad city) and head to the state of Rajasthan it's a beatiful place or fly into Mumbai and head by train down the coast to goa and onto Kerala. Fly into Delhi again and follow the river Ganges to the sea passing some great cities and sites along the way Kanpur, Varanasi( we're they burn there dead the pyres burn 24/7 all year) Patna all holy cities.
I've been to se Asia many times and India, but India still has its soul, yes you have your scammers but nothing like Thailand( the worst) Cambodia or Vietnam

Thanks folks. I'll look into those suggestions. I have been to South America before and Thailand and Cambodia. But I'll look at New Zealand and India.

Nepal is one the best destinations for hiking, plenty trails of varying length. Scenery is stunning as well.

Here's a breif description of the options http://wikitravel.org/en/Trekking_in_Nepal
