Trying to get my head around it, but with no luck:confused: Do we need to consult with an adviser before we send away our application? What kind of fees would we be looking at?

The closing date for this scheme is the end of this month so you need to get moving. The department have made it as awkward as they can to join, you need to talk to an agricultural advisor ASAP.

If you have SAC, Commonage or natura land you must get an adviser to complete the application. if you dont then you dont have to get an adviser, but you can. no idea of costs, we did ours ourselves. You need to read the application form, the terms and conditions and the specifications a few times.

I think start with the specifications, print them off and read them, throw away the specs for any measures that will not work for you and see what you're left with, then see if there's a combination of those measures that you can work that form a valid combination.

impossible to know till after they process the applications. there's more "likely" people available this time as lads continue to come out of reps3 and reps4 so they say places will be tight, but they've said that each previous time and supply has exceeded demand. We're not in any of the priortiy types but have submitted an application anyway as it cost us nothing only time and a stamp.

I've read the specs a few times which helped, try doing like I said above, eliminate the measures you cant do, see what you're left with and see then if you can get a valid combination.

They arent making it easy to get into this.

We've gone for wild bird cover, new hedgerow establishment and hedgerow coppicing.

The way we look at it, where the hedge is going should really have a hedge anyway, it definitely needs to be refenced and the coppicing is badly overdue too, so the work is being done anyway, may as well get paid for it.

The wild bird cover is some ground that badly needed reseeding anyway so we're gonna play tillage on a couple of acres of it for a few years and get a better return than the selling of silage that it's currently doing.

You need to read everything under aeo3 on this page, multiple times.

    http://www.agriculture.gov.ie/farmerschemespayments/ruralenvironmentprotectionschemereps/repsandaeosschemes/agri-environmentoptionsschemeaeos/

our application may be scuppered :(

The clarifications on measures that can be redigitised will likely rule out our new hedgerow.

I think I'll seek a further clarification. they did eventually respond to my first query.

Does anyone know if Dept will accept applications in regional offices on Friday?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,342 ✭✭✭JohnBoy

    Submitting the completed application:

The following documents must be submitted to the Department:
    • Completed Form A and either Form B, Form C, Form W or Form N as appropriate.
    • A farm map clearly identifying the LPIS numbers and the locations where each action will be carried out.

Closing date for receipt of applications is 30 November 2012.

Send the completed forms and maps to:

    AEOS 3 Section
Department of Agriculture, Food and the Marine
    Johnstown Castle Estate
    Co. Wexford

    Tel: 053-91 63400

Doesnt say anything about it on the application form, give them a ring.

Thanks, John Boy for all that.
I gave Wexford a ring and girl said all forms should be in Wexford by Friday

last year all the forms had to go to Wexford, no use handing them in to local offices

I wonder is there any way of making a change to an already submitted application?

I have tree planting and new hedgerow down on the one lips parcel (our whole farm is basically one parcel), I was hoping to digitise out the required fields in 2013, however it looks like that's not possible now going by the clarifications on Nov 7th.

Exactly, but you can also drop them down to Johnstown in person if you wish.

    Tipp North,
Hedge planting and tree planting can be done on same LPIS no if done in different parts of Plot

When did you submit the application?

if you have the receipt for registered post I'd be looking to make a case for re-sumitting if it was before the 7th.

On the actual issue, you'd be best ringing them. I got this by email, but it may not answer you're specific case.
. No linear based actions are allowed on the other part of the plot. If you are digitising out an existing 2012 parcel you can only put another area based action on the other part of the plot.

but that was in relation to mixing and matching wild bird cover and new hedgerow.

might be no harm to seek clarification. there's still time (just) to re-submit if nessecary.

    Thanks johnBoy,
I took your advice and rang the Aeos Section in the department. They were actually very helpful and explained everything very clearly.

I'm allowed submit a new application, they said to just include a note explaining that the new application is to replace the previous one. I'm now going with Species Rich Grassland and traditional hay meadow, both of which are on the same LPIS parcel (which is acceptable as both area based) but both will need to be digitised out in 2013 sps application. It's important to identify this properly in your application form. Ill have two plots to digitise so when identifying them on the form it'll be the original LPIS Plot No.and a new reference -Plot 1 etc. For example 'V12345678 - Plot 1' and likewise for the second plot (plot 2).

Apart from the main LPIS plot which contains most of my farm i've another few small LPIS Plots (as a result of redigitising areas a few years ago) so i'm going to do some New hedge row on one of these also.

    I
