Ive been paying attention to their radio statements etc for ages and never fail to hear a strong dublin accent. I sometimes feel like I'm listening to the ravings of a taxi driver over a union rep.

Is the place really that cosy that they're that inbred.

You're from Athlone and you're calling people inbred?

    Pot, meet kettle.

Airport in north Dublin and workers with Dublin accents, what were you expecting OP?

Westmeath famous for pretty much nothing or Roscommon, a county of sheep stealers. :P

I was on the train up to Dublin beside some head honcho from Siptu the day that teacher strike was on. Can't remember his name but he was from Cork.

Because Union leaders have a certain colourful history and everyone knows Dublin lads with beards, and Cork lads with beards, are salt of the earth. The ability to talk shyte for years, decades even, without getting either bored or embarassed at your own neck is a rare talent, nurtured in a few tight enclaves.
