Hi I'm really not happy with my solicitor and would like to move to someone else. However he has my will and possibly a property deed. Is he obliged to release all without charge? how would I go about the move?.

He also told me that an amendment of my Will would cost E123,is he entitled to charge if I cancel this but he already has the document formulated?.

    Thanks
    F

Why don't you ask your new solicitor? He should probably know the answers in all fairness.

I think thats normally done by PM - maybe give people and idea here of geographic location. I assume its GP you're looking for?

Hi I'm specificaly look for someone of the l.g.b.t.q. persuasion or friendly to,familiar with such needs. Is there any gay solicitors association who I could get in contact with?.

My current solicitor seems to be delegating to his son,I didn't agree to do business with his son, time to go.

Only, if you have paid all outstanding fees.

You ring your current solicitor and tell him that you are moving your business to another firm.

Yes, your solicitor is entitled to charge a fee for work performed on your instructions, even if you change your mind before the matter is finalised.

OP, I am straight but have many gay clients. To be honest, I do not usually see that their interests are in any way different from those of my straight clients. Am I missing something? I do not really understand what you mean when you are talking about engaging a solicitor that is familiar with lgbtq people's needs. Are you referring to differences in treatment in terms of taxation or some such?

It's to be honest more about personalities than orientation. The man himself I got on ok with but has delegated a lot of work to his trainee son,who was never part of the original set up,I don't get on with him at all,so it's time to move. I am a Transsexual and ideally would like somebody who would have a knowledge of and an interest in the legal issues we face, but again it's primarily a matter of personalities.

There's a guy on Exchequer street - if he's still in business. And that's his thing.

And there is a gay and lesbian legal association. Trans, Bi, and Questioning, I'm not sure.

Never mind the rest. They're like piranha looking for work these days.

Law society has an LGBT group

Send them an email and your location and you might find someone in your area

They all want your business anyway!

It was set up by a boardsie
