Looking at buying a bike from a friend, the bike is on english plates & ten years old.

There's only a log book for the bike, have no invoices or shipping dates of when it was brought into the country.

Am I going to be screwed when I want to VRT the bike or has anyone any helpful hints or ideas?

    All advise greatly appreciated !!

Get a receipt for sale of bike dated recently.
Bring Logbook, receipt, money, rsi number along with some ID to your local vrt person at the NCT centre.

You can even make a invoice on the spot at the vrt centre. I was registering my bike a couple of weeks ago and some chap trying to register his car, didn't have an invoice so the guy behind the desk told him to make one there.
