I has assumed that this aired over Halloween. That was the plan and it was screened on BBC America a few weeks back. Have it here to watch but not had a chance yet, Herbert is one of the more under appreciated horror writers out there. 48 is the most thrilling novel ever written and one I really hope will get the respect it deserves

Really would like to see the BBC or someone do the Ash stories. There was one film based on the novel Haunted with Aidan Quinn back in the 90s and it was rather good but the Ghosts of Sleath has far more potential as a big screen adventure. Though that said the extreme violence that Herbert peppers throughout his novels would put a lot of people off.

Thought I saw Arya Stark in the trailer.

Ah, IMDb tells me Maisie Williams is in it, so my failing eyesight did not deceive me.

Was a big Herbert fan back in my twenties. Read the Secret of.... and remember being dssapointed by the end. That said I liked the first episode and think the story can be improved by being shortened for TV.

    Looking forward to next week.

So the dog was obviously taken because it's barking would have annoyed Cribben even more and the flash flood deaths were more than just an accident, i.e. locked into the basement.

What does all this have to do with the missing son though?

I'm also a big fan but that book creeped the hell out of me, I had a really hard time reading. If I had that in my imagination there's no way in hell I'd tell it to anyone.

The really depressing part being, it's partly based on something real.

I'm really enjoying the series, a good old fashioned ghost story and very well acted and filmed. I'm really feeling for the husband.

Nobody True would make a great show. I don't think you could show The Others on TV.

It's hard to believe it was based on some true stories . Horribly scary but at least u could say it was make believe . Yuck
