the signal quality is usually 50-60% for me but i notice its around 35-38% now on channels like cbs action, horror channel etc. I'm wondering has anyone noticed this maybe the rain knocked my lnb slightly out of alignment

I'll have a check later but the Horror Channel feed is fine subjectively.

It would seem to be a common issue these days. A lot of people have seen the weak transponders disappearing below the tuners threshold.

That threshold can vary from box to box.

    Re- alignment time.

Just checked and they are showing at around between 60 and 70, using a 80cm oval dish south-east.

Yes, I've noticed problems in the last 24 hours. Can no longer get BBC 1 London.

    Anything one can do?

but thats on the Astra 1N sat, you shouldn't have any problems with that channel

Don't know anything about satellites. The only Astra satellites listed by my receiver are Astra 1H and Astra 4A ; neither is tuned it and I am not sure it's even possible to do so given where they are (E19.2 and E4.8).

I'm pointed to and tuned in to Eurobird 1 at 28.2E with signal intensity of 90%, quality of 76% (fluctuates a bit) and have had BBC 1 London, among other regions, for about 15 months (since I first got a receiver; dish was there already). BBC 1 London only just disappeared. It's been there in the day, around noon or so, but not in the evening.

It's listed in the list of channels seen by the combo box. I did recently change from a Technomate 1000D to a Xoro 9000+ but I think that's coincidental.

Can you do a scan of Eurobird 1 as shown in this video and see what you get?

I've done this already. As it happens... I have signal again now. Hopefully it was just a 24 hour glitch. But I'd be interested to know if there's anything I can do to boost the signal quality.

Rain shouldn't knock anything out of alignment. Either your installation was poorly done in the 1st place, or it's deteriorated to the point where it needs attention.

No glitch. Same applies as above.

it has gone back to normal now. the signal does usually drop with heavy rain though but it was low these past couple of days even with no rain and most of the other channels are 98% quality so its lined up ok i know Eutelsat 28A is offset a bit so its always a bit lower quality. note i never noticed picture break up but if it went a bit lower it would. i just thought maybe it was something to do with the rumors that the satellite had power problems
