What are the restrictions on solicitor advertising or are there any? Just seen an Irish solicitor firm advertisement on youtube there. Advertising their personal injury services. i thought those kinds of ads were not allowed here.

Essentially advertising must be in good taste, must not say or infer the particular solicitor has a particular expertise above the normal expertise expected, must not bring the profession into disrepute, cannot say a % of a settlement/award is the basis of the fee (in personal injury matters). There are also restrictions on where the advertisement can be placed.

    Can you link the YouTube?

If a mod says its ok I'll link it. Doesn't seem on the face of it to break those rules. Claims to practice exclusively in the area and have a panel of consultants from the UK to advise on wether an injury case exists.

It's one of those ads that comes up before a video so I can't imagine they have much control of what content it's posted with. Can't remember what video i first saw it on now.

It would be interesting to see where Google Adwords fit into the (vague) regulations. I've seen firms buy the adwords for a particular name of service with the rider that they have a high success rate.
