I think fair play to James McClean for standing up and not giving into the British bully boy tactics of forcing people to wear that stupid poppy. After all its a appeal to help soldiers who murder innocent people all over the world, past and presents. I'm surprised why FIFA haven't stood in and stopped it.

Have many other Irish or otherwise celebs refused to wear the nonsense?

    your thoughts please

Most british people don't wear the poppy. Its ubiquity is only on television.

they shouldnt bring politics into football anyway. i heard McClean is getting abuse for not wearin it. Even that Nordy tw#t that presents the Match of the day had a little dig at him at the end of the program tonight.... What is their deal? Can they not see why we wouldnt want to wear it? Have they not been educated in what happened on this island by their "heros"
