I was having a freaker in my mind the other day playing golf. Wanted to fly off the handle but couldn't because I was playing with a randomer. Wouldn't let myself down like. Kind of helped me recover by not flipping out and had a decent back 9.

What other things do you find help to calm you down you feel like a total disaster on the course?

Someone said to me recently. Your thoughts control your emotions and your emotions control your actions. Iv tried telling myself im the chap over a drive and still sliced it 100 yards!

This is a side of the game I think I could personally grow. State of mind essential as we know. Staying calm and making the right decisions and taking the right shot on instead of being greedy and chasing a hole.

I might invest in one of those bob what's his names books.

I find its easier to stay calm if you stay in the moment.
Its easier (not easy!) to just focus on each shot rather than focus on not letting a bad round/hole/shot annoy you imo.

Agree. How often does a bad shot run into a few more. You duck hook a drive or something and the next drive, bang, exact same.

I watched a tutorial on youtube. Think it was McDowell. He said after a bad shot he'll do a couple of swings to figure out what he did wrong. In other words avoiding thinking to much and doing something physical. If he hits a good shot he celebrates it. Triggers positive emotion the next time you are standing over a similar shot you straight away think of the last good one. The reason? Because memories where emotions are high always stick.
