After a good few months of thinking I went ahead and ordered this tonight...

It slightly grates me that is so much of a sub hommage, but the body is different and it's a very decent watch for the money. Looking forward to getting it and adding it to the box

As far as I could make out from the website this model is in stock. If that's the case I think they use Fedex so I'd be hopeful about this week...

Really great looking piece, any chance you could pm me the website? Or if allowed put up a link?

    Cheers

Best of luck with it gpf. Would you let me know what you think of it in the flesh please?

Tossing up between one of them, and an Ocean 44 GMT and a GMT- Ocean 1.

If I could stretch to it, I'd love a Nav B Chrono, but that's looking unlikely.

I will indeed. Reading online anyone that has got one has been very happy. The lume strength is an area that gets some criticism but it wouldn't bother me too much to be honest.

When it arrives I'll post a few pictures and my impressions.

Cheers man. Appreciate it. Any reviews I've found as well, are pretty glowing. Barring the odd occasion.

Seriously considering an Ocean 1 Black. Looking forward to your comments on yours when you get it.
Not sure whether to opt for the ceramic inlay or not

Do Steinhart have a boutique in Munich?

I don't think so ...but Augsburg is about an hours drive from Munich :D

I'll only be in Munich for a day. Heading down to Weiden. Pity.

+1 on this. I think I'd have to see it in the flesh to decide for sure.

aesthetically I think the aluminium looks better, but I've already got a few scratches on my Tag bezel and I would plan to wear the Steinhart more often so for that sake I think I would opt for the ceramic

I'd be thinking along the same lines as yourself. I'd just be concerned the ceramic insert looks a little bit too grey.

Having said that, it would be better looking a bit too grey, than scratched to hell.

just pulled the trigger on the O1B with the ceramic bezel
after thinking about it and the possibility of it looking crap in a few weeks with scratched and seeing these pics http://forums.watchuseek.com/f275/ocean-1-black-ceramic-bezel-685074.html#post4993081
I went for it in a fit of passion 5 min ago....
I guess a few weeks now but looking forward already

Received my O1VR last week after waiting more than 2 months

Very happy, it's a really solid watch, and reckon I will keep it.

I bought an SKX007 while I was waiting and the O1VR feels so much more solid than it. It's running about 3-5sec fast per day which is great.

The lume is good, it's not as bright as the Seiko, but what is? It's fine for telling the time at 3am if I wake up.

The bezel is maybe a little stiff, but I would prefer this rather than it being too light, at least it feels sturdy.

Mostly love the crystal, dial, hands and non bubble date, and the bracelet is excellent quality

Pics and wrist pics with it in this thread or you're banned :D:D

Well may you wear Zed. Glad to hear you like it. Nice timepiece. :)

I've been thinking of consolidating a bit and shifting 4 or 5 watches including my Steinhart in favour of one pricier watch, but I'm struggling to find something that's as good value.

I'd be really happy if they did the classic style subs in a 44mm version though. I think the only 44mm divers they do have a big bezel and normal face, which I don't really like.

Nice watch for those who like homages.
I have the Steinhart OVM. Really good watch, once you get over Steinhart's delivery and support process ( or lack of).

When first ordered it took 3 weeks to arrive. It arrived a day before the actual notification of shipment. And it came with the wrong bezel insert.

Shipment back and 2 weeks later i had the correct one, but minus the strap steinhart promised as an apology. I would be hesitant to deal with them again based on their customer service alone.

The watch itself is very nice. very solid, and looks great. I have no complaints. I also have a seiko 007 variant (skxa35) though and I would pick the seiko over the steinhart any day. It was cheaper but feels like a much better watch.

It just feels a bit tighter, a bit more solid and just overall a little better. If i had to id get rid of the Steiny before the seiko, but thankfully i have not yet been put in that situation!
