Coming up on the show this week we have Shane Ross, Fintan O'Toole and Nick Webb alongside Olivia O'Leary discussing the state of the nation ahead of their theatre production of Four Angry Men.

The star of this season’s Grand Designs, Sean Simons, is in to talk about his life-long dream of restoring his own castle in Roscommon.

Recently married Kerry football player Tadgh Kennelly will be telling us about leaving Ireland and playing with the Sydney Swans in Australia until his return to Ireland in 2009.

Music on the night will be by Gemma Hayes who will be performing “Shock to my System” from her fourth studio album.

I've never heard of them either , have heard of gemma but just like the late late last night weak line up...RTE should be doing better considering the licence fee they get

No I havent, think that would be you and the rest of the staff of The Saturday Night Show thinking these are guests that our tv licence fee should be paying contributors fees to

And from the rest of the thread I am not alone in never having heard of any of these "guests"

The production staff need to do better

They must be part of that group of people that bought digital TVs ten years ago and have been waiting until October 24th 2012 to finally get RTE.. :D

They were talking about Kennelly on Off The Ball during the week.. (It was in the context that the guy he hit at the start of the All Ireland Final, Nicholas Murphy, retired this week) The above video was posted by some bitter Corkonian.. . I usually support Kerry but I thought that incident soured the whole thing about him coming back for one year and winning... He did a jig on a table at the end to celebrate the win, when he should have been sent off..

f*cking hilarious, no wonder rte are scrapping the barrel if your the target audience

I haven't heard of any of them either. What an utterly atrocious line-up. Not that I watch this crappy show but some people obviously don't know what a decent chat show line-up should include.
Why do people watch this when you've got Strictly, Jonathan Ross, MOTD etc.?

It's pretty sad that people are so disengaged from Irish civil and political life that they don't know any of these guests :mad::mad:
Back to soap opera "stars" then.

Why is it sad? We're all different.

It's perfectly reasonable to accept that a lot of people won't know who those 3 are. Not everybody reads the Irish Times or listens to Drivetime or knows every TD.

Most people don't want heavy debates on weekend chat shows. This still hasn't registered with RTE programme makers.

I don't do either of those things but I still know who they are.

You must have been in your element last week when talentless airhead Chantelle Whatsherface was on.

I thought that Paul Howard guy was meant to be on promoting that "Anglo: The Musical" nonsense he's putting on... Heard that mentioned on the radio during the week, but now it seems to have been pulled?

Delighted to see Kennelly getting his block knocked off in that later clip. Very satisfying to see the Kerry fcuker getting a taste of his own medicine :D

I was out last Saturday so no idea who you're talking about.

I just don't like the snobbery about not knowing particular journalists and politicians. Most people have lives.

Olivia O' Leary sounds sooo preachy and patronising.

As consumers we should boycott the lot of them and start some cooperative bank.

Sean Quinns family had to surrender their personal email passwords this week, the Anglo staff still have not provided passwords to files.

Does anyone else see the irony of these four idiots charging people €25 each just to tell them they are getting ripped off?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 6,551 ✭✭✭SeaFields

I stopped watching economic and political stuff last year. Fcuking depressing shi!te.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 358 ✭✭InisMor

Someone really layed on the lipstick thick on Shane Ross.

Two cheap shots from Olivia there... If she had anything to say about Cowen's drinking she should have said it when he's leader.... This could put him right off his studies, he may have an exam in the morning :)

There was a show on RTE during the week about pension holders in Waterford Crystal, their pensions were reduced to a tiny proportion of what they were contractually promised, their company is bust as is the banks, how come the banks still can pay their promised pensions?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 19,351 ✭✭✭✭Harry Angstrom

I reckon if O'Toole plays his cards right, he'll be on a promise with Olivia.
