Hi, I just bought a car three weeks ago from a dealer in dublin. The car is under warranty for 3 month which cover gear box and engine. After 2 days I started to hear a noise when I press& hold the clutch pedal inside. I brought the car back to the dealer, he checked the car and went for a test drive and when coming back he told me that there is a noise when holding the clutch pedal inside but the car is driving fine. He told me that he won't fix the problem as long as the car is driving fine. He told the car is not broken everything is fine except that noise. Please advise what can I do. Thank you

Can't see him covering clutch if it is a clutch issue.

Take it to a mechanic and find out what the issue is. If it is the clutch it's not covered.

    What car and what year?

could be the release bearing making the noise .

might go on for a long time with a noise and the clutch wouldn't be part of the gearbox as far as the warranty goes.

I think Id have been looking for a little more than a 3 month engine and gearbox warranty on a 4 year old A4...

Clutch is normally classed as a consumable like tyres as regards warranty.

I would have expected more than a 3 month engine and gearbox warranty on a 2008 car.

Could be the flywheel. I got a solid flywheel fitted on a vw caddy lastyear and when i press clutch right to floor i hear a rattling noise. Brought it to a couple of clutch and gearbox outfits and they said its nothing to worry about.
