Save them up yourself or ask friends and family to save them up for you?
I do this most of the year as I'm always testing out some new recipe for jams and sauces.

Sometimes when I NEED a jar, I buy a cheapo apple sauce or something in Tesco (around 40c) and empty it!

What of a case of Baby Food jars? You might be able to use the natural fruit baby food in your jam recipe.
