Does anyone know when Ski Sunday starts up again on BBC2 ? Their website here - http://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/b006v8fc - still talks of last season so I imagine it will be a while off.

We tend to miss the first few shows in the year, and then are away for another few shows so we only ever get to see a couple, but there's just something about it that makes us feel like it's not really Winter unless we get to see it.

I'm open to other ski programs on the assorted free satellite channels if anyone knows of any others.

18th of January is the Wengen World CUp weekend which is were Ski Sunday normally start their year. Showing the 4/5 biggest races of the year.

If you have Eurosport they are showing both World CUp skiing and Ski Cross races this year.

Levi in Finland will host a Slalom this weekend mens and ladies

Thanks for the replies. It turns out we have Eurosport and the boys spent the weekend watching some sort of top 100 faceplants program. I'm sure once the snow picks up there will be more real stuff on.

yea they had the first event from Finland on all weekend. Lindsy Vaughn kicked some ass as usual and there was a 17year kids from somewhere too, she was fantastic. The men's event was decent too, can't remember who won, think it was one of the Austrians.
Eurosport's gonna have loads of coverage and it'll increase because the winter breaks are coming up for the football that they cover. Just so long as they don't show too much snorefest figure skating :p

Lyndsey Vonn was not in Levi, she stayed at Copper Mountain, the US Ski team training center to do speed training and has since been hospitalised

The 17 year old was Mikaela SHIFFRIN a very talented young American from Vail, she scored her first points last season as a 16 year old and will be huge.

Andre Myhrer won the mens for Sweden with Hirscher 2nd and Byggmark from Sweden 3rd.

Good weekend and a great result for Dave Ryding, from team GB finished 25th. A super result.

Next stop Lake Louise for the Downhill

Extreme sports (ntl channel 422) has Untracked on nightly about 2am. It's worth recording. Lots of off piste skiing, the likes of which I will never do.

Last year I did catch a feature on St Anton.
