My car is up on done deal.
I received an email enquiring about it, service history and price etc.
    I replied.

His next response is worrying me!
He said he'll take the car and to remove it from the site. But he lives in England, and that he has someone to ship the car over to England from Dublin. He will come after payment has been made which would be through PayPal.

It's a scam of some sort surely??
Should I contact done deal about this?

    See similar thread here:

    http://www.boards.ie/vbulletin/showthread.php?t=2056801964

Unless it is something rare it is either a scam or an idiot who buys a car that he/she hasn't even seen.

It's a scam most definitely. I received the same this morning as I've a car on DoneDeal too. I called his bluff with a link to a scammers exposed web page. He didn't come back.

Yes report it. If they are not made aware of it then they cannot do anything about it.

Disabling the email option and specifying no texts should go some way toward discouraging this type of nonsense.

If a buyer's genuine, they'll be happy to pick up the phone to discuss your ad.

    Er, no they won't.

“And my existence, while grotesque and incomprehensible to you, generates funds to the exchequer. You don't want to acknowledge that as truth because, deep down in places you don't talk about at the Green Party, you want me on that road, you need me on that road. We use words like freedom, enjoyment, sport and community. We use these words as the backbone of a life spent instilling those values in our families and loved ones. You use them as a punch line. I have neither the time nor the inclination to explain myself to a man who rises and sleeps under the tax revenue and the very freedom to spend it that I provide, and then questions the manner in which I provide it. I would rather you just said "thank you" and went on your way. Otherwise I suggest you pick up a bus pass and get the ********* ********* off the road”

They can put a notice up on their site for users to be aware of such scams.
